Our Vitamin D3 Drops offer a convenient and effective way to support bone, muscle, and immune health. This highly absorbable formula is delivered in MCT (medium-chain triglyceride) oil, ensuring optimal absorption. As a liquid, it can be taken sublingually (under the tongue), allowing it to enter the bloodstream directly for faster uptake. With a natural orange flavour and no unnecessary additives, it’s a simple and flexible way to maintain healthy vitamin D levels.

Often referred to as the "sunshine vitamin," vitamin D3 is much more than just another nutrient—it acts more like a hormone in the body and plays a crucial role in immune function, metabolism, mood, and mental health.

Vitamin D3 is essential for immune health. Low levels, which are common in the UK, especially during winter, may compromise immune function, making us more susceptible to infections. Because vitamin D3 modulates immune responses, it’s also beneficial for individuals with overactive immune systems.

It is critical for bone health, as the body cannot absorb calcium effectively without it. This is particularly important for muscle function and fall prevention in older adults, as well as for the normal growth and development of bones in children. Emerging research also highlights its role in brain health, cardiovascular health, and metabolic function.

This formula is suitable for adults and children over the age of 1 who want to ensure adequate intake of vitamin D3 but is particularly suited to those more at risk of deficiency including the those over 65 years of age, people with darker skin who naturally make less vitamin D in response to sunlight, and children under 5 years of age. The bone support provided by adequate vitamin D levels is particuarly important for children whose bones are developing and those over 65 years old for whom falling is a risk factor for bone fractures.

Between October and March, everyone in the UK is at risk of low levels of vitamin D, as we cannot generate enough vitamin D in the skin through sunlight in those months, and it is very difficult to consume enough through food. It is thought that as little as 10% of our vitamin D intake comes from the food we eat.

Supplementation with 400iu (10mcg) is recommended to adults and children over the age of one, particularly during the autumn and winter months; and groups at risk of deficiency such as those who have little or no exposure to sun, are recommended to supplement all year round.

We use the D3 form of vitamin D in our product, which is the same form made in the skin in response to sunlight, meaning it is easier for the body to absorb than other forms.
