B vitamins are commonly thought of as the vitality-giving nutrients. Essential for energy production, they are fundamental to good health. However, as a natural constituent of many wholefoods and whole-grain cereals, many people don’t get enough B vitamins from their diet. Foods are stripped of nutrients during the refining process, and so common “staple” foods, such as white rice, white bread and pasta, tend to be devoid of any goodness.
