Joint pain is a major challenge in society today. As we grown older, lifelong wear and tear on our joints begins to take its toll, causing destruction of the cartilage tissue, pain, inflammation and restricted joint mobility. Typically, analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents are used to help ease the pain of joint inflammation, but they do nothing to address the underlying degenerative process. In fact, use of these pharmaceutical agents tends to impair further cartilage metabolism, which in the long run can worsen the condition.
