The Widespread Clinical Applications of Berberine
Berberine is a firm favourite among healthcare practitioners. It is best known for its anti-microbial activity against a range of pathogens including bacteria, fungi and protozoans, and is a primary herbal ingredient used to support the elimination of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). More recently however, research has been prolific in identifying new benefits and clinical applications. This is perhaps what has become most appealing about berberine; its diverse range of potential therapeutic activity.
