MetaZen is a targeted combination of l-tryptophan and Saffron, with folate and magnesium for psychological function.

MetaZen provides l-tryptophan, an essential amino acid important for the synthesis (production) of serotonin, an important neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) in the brain. When serotonin is out of balance, it may negatively influence mood and happiness levels.

MetaZen contains body-ready folate as Metafolin (5MTHF). This form may be useful for those individuals who have difficulty converting folic acid into its active form. Folate is incredibly important for the body,  necessary for the normal functioning of the nervous system, and helping to maintain normal homocysteine levels, as well as our psychological function. Folate may also reduce tiredness and fatigue.

Magnesium is also essential for our normal psychological function. Did you know that low magnesium status may be associated with irritability or confusion? Magnesium is such an important mineral, it is involved in literally hundreds of reactions within the body. It is known as “nature’s tranquilliser” as it has a calming effect on the muscles and the nervous system. It is therefore of utmost importance to maintain adequate magnesium levels. Magnesium glycerophosphate is a very well-absorbed form of magnesium that is also gentle on the GI tract.

Saffron (Crocus sativus) is found in MetaZen as an extract, standardised to safranal. Saffron has been used traditionally to support a healthy mood balance. More recently saffron has been subjected to clinical trials, with exciting results, indicating that it may support relaxation and positive mood.

MetaZen is both vegetarian and vegan. Take 1 tablet daily, best taken in the late afternoon or evening.

MetaZen is a targeted combination of l-tryptophan and saffron, with folate and magnesium for psychological function.

MetaZen features:

 • Folate as 5-methyl tetrahydrofolate, the active, body-ready form of folate, essential for normal psychological function.

 • L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid that is important for the synthesis (production) of serotonin, also known as the “happy hormone”. When people don’t have enough serotonin, it may negatively affect their mood and happiness levels.
