3 Recipes For Glowing & Healthy Skin

3 Simple recipes to feed glowing skin

Super-skin citrus smoothie

Start the day with this power-packed smoothie to support radiant, glowing skin.  Watercress, oranges and lemons contain high amounts of vitamin C to help your body make collagen; a special type of connective tissue and the ‘glue’ that holds skin together.  Leafy greens such as lettuce and wheatgrass are rich in chlorophyll and minerals.  Protein is essential to support skin rebuilding and repair. 

You will need:

2 handfuls organic watercress, washed
8 Little Gem lettuce leaves, washed
2 medium oranges, peeled
Juice from ½ lemon
2 cups filtered water (adjust depending on preferred consistency)
½ teaspoon wheatgrass powder
1 tablespoon organic pea protein powder
1 handful ice

Method:

Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender.  Blend for at least 15 seconds.  Serve immediately and enjoy.

 Skin-soothing cinnamon-spiced cashew milk

This protein-packed milk drink is rich in antioxidant & anti-inflammatory spices to protect your skin against everyday toxins and soothe away inflammation.

You will need:

½ cup raw organic cashew nuts
2 teaspoons organic pea protein powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch of turmeric
¼ teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Method:

Soak cashew nuts in water for 3 hours, drain and rinse.

Add cashew nuts and all remaining ingredients to a high-powered blender.  Blend for 60 seconds.  Serve immediately and enjoy.

‘Eat yourself beautiful’ avocado & dark chocolate truffles

These delicious truffles contain antioxidant-rich dark chocolate to protect your skin, along with avocado, the green super food that is packed full of healthy fats and vitamin E to support youthful, hydrated skin.

You will need:

(makes 12)

6oz organic dark chocolate
1 small avocado (mashed)
½ teaspoon organic vanilla extract
Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
2 tablespoons organic cocoa powder

Method:

Melt the chocolate (I use a glass bowl over a saucepan of simmering water), add the salt & vanilla extract.  Mash the avocado until smooth and stir into the chocolate mixture.  Place in the fridge for 15 – 20 minutes.  Take out of the fridge and scoop out 12 balls using a spoon.  Using your hands, roll into truffle balls.  Place on a tray lined with greaseproof paper.

Transfer the cocoa powder into a bowl and roll each ball in the powder until covered.  Store in the fridge.  Serve at room temperature & enjoy!
