Amino Acids & Building Blocks

It’s no mystery why amino acids are often called the “building blocks of life”. They are organic compounds that combine to make protein, muscle, neurotransmitters, hormones and brain matter – indeed, 75% of the non-water mass of the human body is composed of amino acids. DNA and RNA need amino acids to form, which is why most evolutionary biologists think the presence of amino acids was the true precursor to life on earth.
